We named our team The Chili Champions… and it turns out we were manifesting! At the Coldwell Banker OnTrack Realty chilli cook-off in Red Deer, there were nine chillies to choose from, and our team won every single category: Most Flavourful, Spiciest, and Overall Favourite. A clean sweep! 🌶️🏆
Real estate is a people business, and some of my favourite days in this job have nothing to do with contracts or showings. This was one of them.
Getting Ready for the Chilli Cook-Off in Red Deer
The friendly rivalry started well before cook-off day. Secret recipes were guarded, spice levels were debated, and the trash talk around the office was in full swing. I even made our chef hats myself, cutting a “Chili Cook-Off Champion” iron-on design on my Cricut. Growing up on a farm in BC, I learned that if you’re going to show up, you show up properly.

Our Red Deer Chilli Cook-Off Clean Sweep
I was so lucky to be teamed up with Shelly-Anne James and Rob Levie. We made an excellent team, and by the end of the day everyone wanted to know our secret sauce. (We’re not telling! 🤫)
What made the day truly special wasn’t the trophies, though. Having my clients come out to support me meant so much, and having my family there made it even better. Thank you to everyone who came out, tasted, voted, and cheered us on. We can’t wait for next year. We may just quit real estate and join the chilli cook-off circuit! 😂
